TOPIC: Discussion Group for 2011-2012 FE rule proposal

Discussion Group for 2011-2012 FE rule proposal 2 years, 3 months ago #306

Hello,

As many of you know, fast electric has been growing in many of our local clubs and districts. As such, the time has come to discuss proposing a set of rules to guide it's growth both locally and nationally. I would like to propose that those of you interested in this discussion post here. To begin these discussions I think it is a good idea to have a conference call where those of us interested in participating can do introductions before we begin laying a road map towards accomplishing this goal.

I will post my conference call bridge information in the near future.

Thanks,
Sean Kewley IMPBA District 4

Me too Doug. I would like to wait a week or two for others to express their interest before having our first call. After doing introductions on the call I would like to discuss our goals to get the ball rolling.

Based on previous phone conversations and internet chat it appears that the main goals that we are striving to accomplish are…

1) Increase FE participation at local club and district race events, with the hopes of it leading to a well attended FE IMPBA national event.

2) Make it easy for existing IC boat racers to get their feet wet with FE while keeping cost and learning curve to a minimum.

3) Increase membership in IMPBA by bringing in new FE boaters that are not currently involved with IMPBA clubs or racing.

4) To have fun.

Setting goals is the first step in this process. Once we have our goals in place, we then need to develop a strategy on how to accomplish these goals.

Randall Thomas stays very busy and will need a moment to catch up. I have sent him links to the threads on IW and OSE so he will be up to date with the current issues/ concerns.
It may be best to get one representative from each district involved. Kevin, Randall, what are your thoughts?

Thanks,
Doug

I'm on board though I have a bit of a screwy work schedule we may have to work around.
