I know what the rules say about no mods to the hull.
If you have an old vegas and have done sponson mods to it like the new vegas D
is that boat out.
Sorry if I missed this some where

Mike, I have heard several speak of doing "the sponson mods". Was this something suggested by aquacraft, or did you do your own modifications? I do not see any reason to modify the sponsons, but I would like to see what you are talking about.

Voting has ended for Round 1.

OPT-01 has passed 13 - 5 - 2 - 0. $400 price cap. (updated in Post #2).

OPT-02 has been reduced to the top 2 options. 8 - 6 - 4 - 2. Please re-vote for one of the top two choices.
OPT-03 has passed 14 - 4 - 2 - 0. No pipe modifications allowed. (updated in Post #2)

Thank you for a great turn out of votes!

I have posted the rest of the options to vote on. Please read carefully as I combined OPT-05 and OPT-06 because I am limited to (3) questions per poll, and would like to finish this in a timely manner.

Again, thank you for voting, looks like we will indeed have a strong fleet of RTR's next year. 20 VOTES!!!!

Good to see things are moving along! I know for some this may seem to be a bit over-the-top...but these issues need to be addressed and spelled out.

Jeff, one thing that I wanted to address with the earlier voting, concerns the "pipe mod/pipes allowed" vote. I can't remember exactly how the options were worded...essentially the only option for allowing any "approved" boats pipe included something like "material may be removed" which may create some issues. Specifically for those that have an older Vegas with the Aquacraft .18 and want a quieter boat...just a thought...

BTW, I think Mike Walker is referring to adding material to the bottom of the sponsons of the older Vegas hull to make it similar to the new Deuce hull. This was not something suggested by Aquacraft (as far as I know) but something that I believe Jerry Dunlap posted on a lengthy thread at RCUniverse. Essentially it is adding about 1/4 inch to the bottom of the sponsons...which led to the new Vegas hull (the only change I am aware of). I will wait for Mike W. to respond before I post again on this topic...

Hey Jeff
I tried to email this so not to clutter this page with this but it won't go.
The mod is on R/C U ( make it Fast) thread by Russ W & Jerry dunlap it is for the old vegas
This is not a big deal with me I am all for keeping it box stock. I did one boat and my gifl friends is box stock down to the fuel tank and she still kicks my butt it may handle a alittle better in rough water. It makes the sponsons look more like the new vegas D. I also removed part of the belly pan because it was slitting out. This is not some thing I was pushing To get passed. Stock is stock as it should be.
Thanks Mike

I just wanted to add to the above, even though I have messed one of these boats up as far being a RTR and the rest of it is stock. I dont think I would allow it in the class. I think if you did you would be opening up a bunch of trouble. I am for keeping it clean and simple.

Are the new RTR rules done and if so when will they be published?
